Fabulous! Let’s find you your perfect match.
Whether it’s stellar copy or eye-catching design you need, the Freelance Squad is here to help.

To start, send an email with your project scope. You’ll receive a few candidates, with all the details covered.

Wonderful! That’s what you’ll find here at the Squad: fully vetted, positive clients who have interesting projects and are great people to work with.

To start, send an email with your portfolio or favourite projects, and what kind of work you’re looking for.

You want it? We got it.

So how does this work for businesses?

I get it - you need writing, marketing, graphic design, social media, web design, and general marketing help, but you don’t have time to send 34 LinkedIn messages and review portfolios. Chances are, you need help now, and you want to work with people who are fast, talented, and who have rates that work within your budget.

With the Freelance Squad, you’ll get access to a team of marketing, design, and product professionals, all with just one email (hit ‘save draft’ on those remaining 33).

No more navigating portfolios, comparing hourly vs. project rates, and most importantly, no more trying to single-handedly run your entire marketing project because you haven’t found time to find the perfect team yet.

(I know, it’s pretty effing sweet.)

So how does this work for creatives?

You love writing or designing, right? (Duh.) But: do you love all the other parts of managing your own business? You know the drill—checking Upwork, sending awkward LinkedIn messages, doing month-end invoices, trying to figure out what the hell to charge, and whether that should be project rate, hourly rate, or maybe you’ll just never send them an invoice at all because you still can’t decide between FreshBooks and QuickBooks (seriously: what’s the difference?).

Anyway.

By joining the Freelance Squad, you won’t have to worry about any of that. You’ll have client work sent your way, and get to set your own rate. And, if you don’t want to deal with invoicing, well, you don’t have to.

(I know, it’s pretty effing sweet.)

All the questions you didn’t know you had. Plus the answers, obviously.
  • For any freelance work, there’s no fee at all.

If you decide to hire someone on full-time, there’s a one-time recruiting fee. It’s less than you’d pay a recruitment service, and only if the candidate is successful.

  • Yes. You’ll receive a few bios of potential creatives you can choose from. You’ll have access to their portfolios and bios, and you’ll be able to chat with them directly if you want.

When you share a budget range in advance, you’ll only be presented with creatives that meet your needs.

  • You bet—that’s the beauty of the Squad. Find your freelance copywriter and web designer team, or hire multiple creatives for really big projects.

  • Nothing. There’s no cost to join.

  • You get paid when client work is completed. There are two options:

    Option 1
You act as a subcontractor. You set your own rate, though it may be negotiated based on client scope. You don’t work directly with any clients.

    Option 2

You work directly with the client, and pay a percentage fee to the Freelance Squad for securing the client work. You can either invoice the client directly, or, have the Squad do the dirty work for you.

However you choose, any invoices submitted to clients by the Squad are paid to you within 30 days.

  • You don’t need a formal portfolio, but it helps to have a body of work we can share with potential clients. A Google Drive is fine.

  • Yes and no. We offer clients a range of junior and senior creatives, so don’t worry if you don’t have 10+ years under your comfortable belt. That said, to ensure clients receive quality work, you need to be able to reliably deliver excellent content.

  • You should have a body of work (doesn’t have to be extensive), an idea of your bandwidth for projects, a rough estimate of your rates, a short bio, and a headshot (doesn’t have to be professional, but should look professional).

One more thing: a solid contract to protect yourself is key. Contact Lagom Law for a Freelance Squad deal on a freelance-specific contract—just say you’re with the Squad.
